TILE final dissemination events

In England had two final dissemination events. One of these, funded by our Vice Chancellor’s Office, was a reception at the House of Lords on 3rd July where we invited  60 people. We invited Government Ministers, MPs and Lords to a presentation and reception with a TILE display table. We also invited other stakeholders such as heads of FE colleges, national charities and representatives from the Embassies of the TILE countries. We are very excited about this event as it was an opportunity to disseminate TILE at a very high level.

Another dissemination opportunity was the NADP (National Association of Disability Practitioners) Annual Conference where we had a table.

The NADP Annual Conference 2013 was held on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th June 2013 at Crewe Hall. The Conference focused on 'The Road Ahead'. ‘The road ahead’ for both disabled students and the staff who work with them is potentially a rocky one. Increased tuition fees, students being customers, Government savings, the recession, re-organisations and debates about ensuring quality provision funded by DSA, amongst other matters, mean that we all have to work hard to deliver professional, high quality and cost effective services.

The NADP annual conference concentrated on these issues and highlighted the challenges and opportunities facing us all. It brought together practitioners and other staff to share ideas, learn from each other and help plan innovative ways to support staff and students on the journey ahead.
